What I'm reading

Since the man has been home on vacation again I've been reading rather than writing a whole lot. So far, I've read imageimage, image. image and I'm currently reading image. It's not something I usually can indulge in exclusively, but when I do, I tear through books like a kid (or me LOL) goes through chocolate.

He actually goes back to work tomorrow so I'm hoping to get back to my writing again. I've discovered Olivia, my muse, really doesn't like being around when the man is. So to compensate for her splitting while he's around, I read. I have several more on the To Be Read list, as well as a mile long To Be Bought list. That seems to grow no matter how fast I read. Just a lot of good writers out there.

We've also spent some family time watching the entire Star Wars Saga, image one movie a day. Man those were good to watch again. Today it was image

I will admit we don't usually spend a lot of family time just hanging out watching movies. I really have to be willing to sit still for the duration. I just have a hard time sitting still for that long. Books on the other hand, I can loll around on the bed or sit still to read for hours on end. I don't know what it is, the difference between watching a movie and reading a book. Movies are rarely longer then two hours. I think it's how I interpret them. I'm more involved when reading a book, it evokes emotions. More then a movie can, although it doesn't take much to make me cry it seems. I'm an easy sap when it comes to either.

So what have you guys been reading or watching for the summer?

Sadly, I have little time for reading anymore. **Sigh**

I loved X-Men. And the original Star Wars movies...

You're making me want to watch them all again.

Poor Olivia, doesn't like to share.

I've had my eye on "Gone with the Witch." Did you like it? But right now I'm reading "The Outsiders" My daughter gave it to me when I was looking around the house for something handy to read, lol. Movies: I just watched "Be Kind Rewind" I really liked it, but probably not for everyone.

LOL Marianne. She really doesn't.

Dorlana, GwtW was good. I think it might have held more for me if I'd read the first one, but I always have that worry when I break a series up. Love The Outsiders movie. Haven't read the book.

I'm currently reading 'Duel Of Eagles'. It's a very good history book, a simultaneous exploration of the history of both the RAF and the Luftwaffe leading to the Battle of Britain.

Fascinating read, and very even handed. A lot of obscure behind the scenes stuff that I didn't know about before.

I hardly ever watch anything on TV these days. Most of my watching is cartoons on various streaming TV channels. Been on a Teen Titans binge this week. And I caught the latest Hellsing OVA on the weekend.

Aw. Sounds great! I have an entire stack of oldies but goodies on my table. I do that when I'm feverishly writing. It's satisfying if a bit thoughtless. I do have one book open, The Way the Crow Flies, for a book club, which meets at the end of July. I hope I can get through it!!!

I rented a Sydney Poitier[sp?] movie, Lilies of the Field. It's soooo good! I remember watching it as a kid. I hope my kids like it as much as I did.

I'm reading Julie Cohen's The Honey Trap at home and Jessica Hart's Newlyweds of convienience at work. Both really good reads.

I'm actually watching movies - having to feed a baby gives me more TV time than I expected. But then, I'm tuck and so just watch whatever is on...like Superbad. Not something I'd choose.

I'm reading Sylvia Brown's Psychic Children, Eden Bradley's The Dark Garden, and Kate Walker's Spanish Billionaire, Innocent Wife.

Oh, I LOVE Nalini Singh! What did you think?

I haven't read the other one, but I'm like you, my TBB list goes halfway across the room, and my TBR pile is in danger of toppling and crushing one of my children!

Movies... hmm... Been on a dancing movie kick lately: Step Up, The Turning Point, Strictly Ballroom... Sometimes cheesy, but I love the dancing.

Hey Kealie... I know what you mean! I finally got everything on GoodReads. I hit 899 today. Whoops! LOL

And that's not even counting all the ebooks I know I have. I have over 120 of those.

I really liked Nalini's books. I can't wait to get the fourth.
